Columbia Southern University is honored to partner with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) to provide The Military Child Education Coalition Heroic Hearts Scholarship to military-connected students including children of active duty, reserve, National Guard, and veteran service members. MCEC supports all military-connected children by educating, advocating, and collaborating to resolve education challenges associated with the military lifestyle.
Scholarship Details
This scholarship will cover tuition and technology fees for 120 credit hours, up to 48 months, or completion of the selected online degree program, whichever comes first.
Recipients must be available to begin coursework within 6 months of the award date.

Eligibility
The Military Child Education Coalition Heroic Hearts scholarship is open to high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates within the military adjacent population.
- Must be a high school junior, senior, or recent graduate.
- Must be military-connected (child of active duty, reserve, National Guard, or veteran service member) and able to demonstrate military relationship (e.g. military ID).
- Applicants under age 18 must supply parental consent when entering into signed agreements.
- Must be available to begin coursework within 6 months of the date of the award.
- Capable of maintaining a 2.0 undergraduate GPA or 3.0 graduate GPA.
- Applicants who have previous college experience must meet academic requirements for admission to the university.
- Remain in good standing with the university throughout degree program.
- Applicants must meet general requirements for High School Students outlined in CSU’s Admission Requirements Policy.
Selection Process
The scholarship application will open on September 22, 2025 and close on February 13, 2026.
Applications will be reviewed based on merit, need, and alignment with MCEC’s mission to support military-connected students facing educational challenges. The scholarship will be awarded in April of 2026.
