Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Military Studies equips students with a knowledge of military logistics, tactics, communications, and outcomes so that students may not only analyze current military operations, but also prepare for the future of the military. Students may utilize the topics covered in this program, such as leadership, relationships, decision-making, and problem-solving to pursue careers within the military as well as military-related civilian positions in various fields including business, public safety, and education.

Concentration Description

Focuses on the application of technical competencies associated with homeland security roles. Students acquire knowledge and experience from expert field practitioners by focusing on topics related to terrorism, tactical response operations, weapons of mass destruction, and American homeland security.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, students should be able to do the following:

Develop counterterrorism strategies
Relate communication, logistics, critical thinking, fitness, and problem-solving strategies to the optimization of mental and physical military performance
Explore the effect of historical and contemporary armed conflict on the relationship between military organizations and civil society (civil-military relations)
Examine how the different attributes of military leaders impact military outcomes
