Virtual Commencement 2020

Commencement is one of the most joyous events at CSU and we are committed to providing the Class of 2020 with a memorable commencement experience. Every year, we look forward to celebrating this incredible milestone with our graduates and their loved ones.

In that spirit, we are hosting a virtual ceremony on December 4, 2020, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This is not a decision that we take lightly; however, the safety of our graduates, their families and our employees is our priority. The deadline to register was October 21, 2020.

We may not be able to celebrate together, but that doesn't mean the party has to stop! Check out our Commencement Celebration Kit for custom social media graphics, printable CSU decorations, tasty recipes and more!

Brief Overview of the Virtual Ceremony

This incredible milestone deserves recognition, whether it’s done in-person or virtually. Here is a brief overview of what to expect during the virtual ceremony.

During the virtual ceremony, your personalized graduation slide will be displayed during the degree conferral, also known as the graduation “walk.” Your customized graduation slide will include your degree and honors (if applicable), a photo and your chosen quote.

A few days prior to the ceremony, you will receive a link to access the virtual ceremony page so you can bookmark it for Dec. 4, 2020. The ceremony will be pre-recorded and will upload on that date so that you can view when it is the most convenient for you and your family and friends.

Future Ceremonies

All CSU graduates may register for and participate in any future ceremony if they were not able to attend the ceremony in the year they graduated. Information about ceremonies is posted in the spring of the same ceremony year.
