CE 104: Making ‘Cents’ of Finance

About This Course

This course explores the fundamental concepts of financial analysis and decision-making. It is designed to provide an overview of the three components of finance: financial markets, investments, and financial management. Students will be introduced to pivotal areas of the financial environment, such as basic financial theory, financial management, ratio analysis, risk and return, time value of money, diversification, and capital budgeting. In addition, an examination of debt versus equity financing strategies will be provided. The focus of the course is to prepare students for a basic level of financial decision-making as it relates to the financial marketplace and current business climate.
