Columbia Southern University is partnering with the New York City Fire Department to offer scholarships to two FDNY employees. One scholarship will be for use in an undergraduate degree program and one scholarship will be for use in a graduate degree program. The scholarships will cover up to 60 undergraduate or 36 graduate credit hours and will be applied directly to the recipients’ tuitions for up to three years or until the completion of the selected online degree programs, whichever comes first.

Eligibility

Scholarship applicants must:

  • Be an employee of and in good standing with New York City Fire Department
  • Begin coursework within 90 days of the date of the award
  • Maintain a 2.0 undergraduate GPA or 3.0 graduate GPA
  • Maintain continuous enrollment in his or her degree program

Current CSU students must already meet these requirements to be considered.

Application

The New York Fire Department Scholarship application will open February 1 and will close March 31. The scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of April. The recipients will be notified via phone call. All other applicants will be notified via email.
