Scholarship Details

Columbia Southern University is proud to award a total of 12 scholarships yearly through the Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship Program. CSU recognizes the sacrifices made by the family members of America’s military men and women, and public safety personnel (firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs & dispatchers).
In appreciation of their support, one scholarship will be awarded to the spouse or child of a National Guard or active military man or woman and one will be awarded to the spouse or child of public safety personnel every two months.

Applications for the Hero Behind the Hero Scholarship are not being accepted at this time.

Two scholarships (one for the military spouse or dependent and one for the public safety personnel spouse or child) will be presented on the award dates listed.

Applicants not selected may continue to apply for a maximum of five scholarship award dates.

The scholarship covers tuition for up to 24 months for one specific level degree program (associate, bachelor's, or master's).

This scholarship covers tuition only. Textbooks and fees will be the responsibility of the scholarship recipient. The CSU Book Grant/Loan-a-Book program does not apply to students utilizing a CSU scholarship.
