For some, tests can be stressful. At Columbia Southern University, we don’t believe testing should be any more stressful than it has to be. That is why we utilize Remote Proctor Now.

Remote Proctor Now – or RPNow – is an innovative, on-demand, test-taking solution that allows students to sit for a proctored assessment anywhere, anytime. By accessing the student’s webcam and microphone, RPNow records assessments for academic integrity review. Here are a few reasons why we offer RPNow as a test-taking option to our students.

Low Cost

Remote Proctor Now charges a $19 fee per proctored assessment. The fee is paid to RPNow prior to each assessment.

Easy Installation

To install RPNow on your computer, submit the “Proctored Assessment Request” located in the myCSU Student Portal under “University Forms” and “Courses.” After the request has been processed by CSU, students will be sent an email with additional instructions.

No Need to Buy Fancy Equipment

The equipment for RPNow services usually comes with any modern computer: a microphone, a webcam and appropriate system rights to download and install necessary software. These technologies, along with high-speed internet, allow any student to utilize Remote Proctor Now.

Test Breaks

As outlined in the Proctor Policy, students are allowed a total of 15 minutes break time during the assessment. Students may exit the testing environment; however, the assessment is to remain open and no materials are allowed to leave or re-enter the testing area.
