Dr. Megan Bowers: College of Arts and Sciences Megan Bowers received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. While in college, she received the Outstanding Undergraduate and Graduate Award for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. During graduate school, she taught College Algebra at the university while tutoring middle and high school students in a variety of disciplines associated math. Megan began working as a math specialist with Columbia Southern University (CSU) in May 2012 where she tutored CSU students in a variety of math courses including Elementary Statistics, Financial Management, Finite Mathematics, and Intermediate Algebra. Megan also served as the Success Center Training Coordinator, which allowed her to collaborate with several departments within the institution as a means to develop motivational and policy trainings for Success Center employees. In March 2013, she transitioned to the department of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation where she utilized her CSU knowledge and statistical background to provide institutional data analysis to support departmental and institutional decision-making. Currently, Megan serves as an Academic Discipline Director (ADD) for the College of Arts and Sciences and teaches full-time for CSU. In addition to creating a learning environment for students that is welcoming; she also develops creative and meaningful curriculum, designs innovative tutorials, administers student engagement sessions in different forums, and shares her knowledge and skills through various trainings with other CSU faculty. As an academician, she enjoys helping others and giving them the tools they need to succeed in their academic career. She presently resides in Sierra Vista, AZ and enjoys spending time with her dachshund, Dixie, as well as cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with family. Dr. Darlene Jaffke: College of Business Dr. Jaffke has a Doctorate of Business Administration in Marketing from Argosy University, Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Dr. Jaffke has 11 years of distance learning background in both a teaching and administrative capacity. Administrative leadership experience at Columbia Southern University included serving as MBA-Lead before taking on the current role as Academic Program Director of the DBA program. Dr. Jaffke was elected by her peers to serve on the Faculty Advisory Council, which provides input and oversight from the faculty perspective on the activities of the university. Dr. Jaffke represented Columbia Southern University at the Fall Conference of the prestigious Marketing Management Association, participating as a member of a discussion panel leading a conversation entitled Teaching Students to Develop a Personal Professional Brand Within this committee, Dr. Jaffke has participated and/or led subcommittees on internal committee review, grade email notification, faculty training and development and was appointed to represent the FAC on the faculty scheduling committee and the contract cheating work group, led by the Vice Provost for Student Affairs. Dr. Jaffke represents all that Columbia Southern University values in her unwavering and tireless pursuit of educational excellence, not for her own benefit or aggrandizement, but for the good of our students, the organizations who employ them, and society as a whole. Dr. Gregory Boothe: College of Safety and Emergency Services Dr. Boothe earned a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology from Walden University in 2010, an M.S. with a double major in Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene from the University of Arizona in 1989, and a B.S. in Biology from Lubbock Christian University in 1977. He has been a Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional since 1992. Dr. Boothe is a founding member and past President of the Middle TN Section of the AIHA and a Professional member Middle TN Section of the ASSP. His over 35 years of experience in Health & Safety includes military service in the US Air Force in the Titan II Missile System where he served as a squadron safety officer as well as a missile Launch Officer, Plans and Intelligence Officer, Top Secret Control Officer, and Codes Custodian. After leaving the military he has worked as a Plant Safety & Health Officer for National Semiconductor, a Corporate IH/Safety Manager for Johns Manville Corp., the Laboratory Director of an AIHA Accredited analytical laboratory, the VP of IH & Safety Consulting for an architectural/engineering consulting firm, and since 2000 as the owner of EHS Services, LLC, a small OSH consulting company. Dr. Boothe has been with CSU since 2013 and serves as Lead Faculty in the Occupational Safety and Health program. He has been instrumental in course development, has assisted with continuing education certificate design, shares his years of industry experience with students in the course room, and was heavily involved with acquiring the Board of Certified Safety Professionals Qualified Academic Program designation for the BS and MS OSH programs.
