As working a mother that also is active in my community, I needed a fit that allowed maneuvering around my busy schedule. Columbia Southern University provided that opportunity.
As the recognized leader in online fire education and one of the most reputable fire professional development programs in the nation, Columbia Southern University offers an online Associate of Science in fire science. CSU’s fire science program incorporates a comprehensive, relevant curriculum of fire prevention and fire protection that provides graduates with the knowledge needed to become a firefighter. The program also provides current firefighters with the education needed to broaden their career paths. This degree program is recognized through the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) initiative, a network of the U.S. Fire Administration’s National Fire Academy.

To satisfy the requirements of the DBA, students must complete a minimum of 15 hours of dissertation/research hours. DBA students should communicate regularly with their dissertation chair regarding the completion of these hours.

Our goal is to provide the strongest online academic programs at an affordable rate. On average, our tuition is less than half the cost of our competitors.

The tuition rate for graduate courses per credit hour is $250 for all active-duty military members (not applicable for CSU learning partners). The lower rate is offered to keep the tuition rate at the DoD cap of $250.
