CSU Promotes McHaney to Chief Marketing Officer

Columbia Southern Education Group (CSEG) is proud to announce the promotion of Eric McHaney to the position of chief marketing officer. 

His new responsibilities will include overseeing Corporate Outreach, Student Alumni and Engagement and Community Outreach in a functional role as vice president of Marketing and Outreach at Columbia Southern University, a subsidiary of CSEG.

McHaney joined CSEG as a marketing consultant in March 2015, and in November 2015, he became the associate vice president of Marketing. As an executive with more than 16 years of higher education marketing experience, he brings expansive knowledge and expertise to the new role.  

McHaney’s career began with University of Phoenix Online from 1999-2006 where he was responsible for all direct marketing efforts as the school grew. He was then hired as associate vice president of Marketing for Grand Canyon University from 2007-2014. While in this position, he led a team of 30 marketing employees dedicated to growing the university’s student base and increasing the organization’s brand equity and national footprint.
