Janell Gibson

Janell Gibson joined Columbia Southern University in 2018 as the university’s vice provost of academic and student affairs. She transitioned into the role of provost and chief academic officer in 2020.

Gibson brings 18 years of higher education experience with an emphasis in online education. She has extensive experience teaching behavioral science and has held various leadership positions at Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Parker University in Dallas, Texas.

Gibson holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the conflict analysis and resolution program at Nova Southeastern University.
