The Faculty

Central to the DBA Goal, concurrent with the University’s mission, is the faculty’s dedication to excellence in teaching and the development of a dynamic online learning environment exemplified by high academic expectations, quality courses, a free exchange of ideas in asynchronous and synchronous environments and a focus on individual student responsibility for academic achievement. Learning in the DBA program emphasizes critical thinking and ethical conduct in the performance of managerial and practitioner duties and responsibilities. The University is committed to innovation, and to changes in curricula that embrace the many opportunities afforded to tomorrow’s leader/practitioner. Inherent in this commitment is adoption of the latest technology to enhance the learning processes in distance education.

Ever wonder what the corporate world is looking for in a DBA graduate?

At a recent symposium on e-learning sponsored by George Mason University, key participants in the corporate arena conducted a brainstorming session on their requirements for doctoral degrees.

* Today's businesses need solution providers - not idea generators.
* They want people who understand knowledge management - not people who could develop software.
* They want practitioners, not leaders.
* They need people who build models.
* Instead of designers, they want performance consultants and people who understand organizational behavior, business metrics, business process modeling and e-commerce.
* They need people who understand performance centered design and organizational design and development.
