Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Security

The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Security is designed for individuals to gain experience in systems analysis, programming, web development, networking, databases, and IT infrastructures. This online degree plan prepares individuals to develop applications, implement databases, maintain networks, and create websites with security as a focal point. The security core focuses on application security, intrusion detection systems, IS auditing, and IS disaster recovery. The program offers a general or homeland security concentration.

To achieve the objective of this program, the following learning outcomes have been established:

  1. Students will be able to identify potential threats, risks, and weaknesses in the Information Technology infrastructure.
  2. Students will be able to apply business and management theory and practices to solve information systems security problems.
  3. Students will be able to evaluate the application of security practices to optimize information systems assurance.
  4. Students will be able to analyze current legal requirements for information systems security.
