. . . he achieved his lifelong dream of completing an advanced degree with CSU.

Gary Moulder’s lifelong dream of earning an advanced degree always seemed out of reach – until he discovered Columbia Southern University.  After exploring the online programs, flexible course structures, and open enrollment offered at CSU, Moulder soon began his first master’s degree program.  Six years later, he had completed not just one master’s degree, but two; he graduated with a master’s of science in environmental engineering in 2002 and another in occupational safety and health in 2006, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

A retired Navy Commander, Moulder currently serves as Chief of the Federal Facilities Section within the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.  He is responsible for working with active defense installations and former defense sites to cleanup and restore environmental contamination and unexploded ordnance.

His academic achievements have established him as an expert in his field with the credentials he needed to draft nationally recognized guidance and technical publications.  Moulder is also a member of several professional and technical workgroups including the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council and Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials.

“Distance education is not easy.  It requires persistence, initiative, perseverance, and a dedication to the end result – accomplishing your dreams of higher education.”
