Present an overview of the International business with an emphasis on the role of culture. Review of the practical management functions necessary to develop global vision and management skills. Emphasis is placed on assessing the environment, ethics and social responsibility, communication skills, and formulating business strategies. Present international business structures and effective leadership skills for today's global economy.

Objectives

  1. Analyze Globalism and explain its impact on business.
  2. Discuss political risk assessment.
  3. Explain interdependence from the perspective of South-North alliances.
  4. Compare cultural variables and universal cultural variables.
  5. Apply Hofstede's value dimensions.
  6. Define the steps in developing international global strategies.
  7. Discuss the influence of culture on strategic choice.
  8. Explain how to manage performance in international joint ventures.
  9. Explain global e-corporation network structures.
  10. Interpret training and development of expatriates.
  11. Discuss the process of preparation, adaptation, and repatriation.
  12. Interpret the intrinsic-extrinsic dichotomy in the international context.
