Congratulations to the following CSU alumni who have been selected to fill Alumni Association officer positions for the upcoming year (8/2007 to 8/2008).
Jamie Gauthier, BS, MBA
President
Jamie earned his BS in Business Administration in 2003 and MBA in 2005 through Columbia Southern University. President of the CSU Alumni Association from 2005 to 2007, he is actively involved in researching and developing new resources for graduates. He currently serves as a police officer in Scotts Valley, California and also teaches for Henley-Putman University as an adjunct instructor.
Brian Edwards, BS, MBA
President-Elect
A 20 year veteran, Brian serves as a Senior Guidance Counselor with the U.S. Army. Winner of the Army’s highest recruiting award, the Glen E. Morell Award, he has also won three Meritorious Service Awards and a Southwest Asia Campaign Medal for his service in Dessert Storm. Brian started his education with CSU in 2002 by enrolling in the BS in Human Resource Management and finished that degree and a MBA in Marketing by 2004.
Corine Monroe, BS, MBA
VP of Communications
Corine is a Senior Manager with Microsoft Corporation, responsible for managing teams supporting global operations. Before joining Microsoft, she worked for Spherion Corporation as a Senior Manager. Her past experience also includes positions with other Fortune 500 and 100 companies such as Wachovia Corporation and the Royal Bank of Canada. A member of the National Association of Professional and Executive Women, she is also actively involved in Habitat for Humanity and serves on several non-profit boards.
Gary Moulder, MS
VP of Networking
Gary completed his MS in Environmental Engineering in 2002 and MS in Occupational Safety and Health in 2006. As Chief of Federal Facilities for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, he has been involved in environmental program management for nearly 30 years. Gary is an active member of the Association of State Territorial and Solid Waste Managers and Officials, Interstate Technology Regulatory Council, and America Society for Testing Materials.
Gina Romero
Student Liaison
Having served in various payroll positions for more than twenty years, Gina Romero has spent the majority of her time working for AT&T/Lucent Technologies. Looking for a more “people oriented” career choice, she recently became the Sales Assistant at a Harley-Davidson dealership. Born in Florida and raised in Georgia, Gina called New Orleans home until Hurricane Katrina came through in 2005. In 2007, her husband retired as a 1SG in the U.S. Army and they now live in Mobile, AL.
Greg Parker
VP of Networking
Greg Parker currently serves as a commissioner for Comal County, Texas. He is the first African American elected to a Comal County office and the youngest person to win election as a county commissioner. He also became the first Republican elected to the commissioners’ court from Precinct 3 and is the only African American Republican County Commissioner in the state of Texas.
James Wadkins
Military Liaison
James earned his BS in Business Administration / Marketing in 2007. James is a 19 year veteran in the Army serving as a Recruiter. James has earned the highest recruiting award, the Glenn E. Morell Award and two Meritorious Service Medals along with many other Army Recruiting Awards. James started his education with CSU in 2005 and completed his BS in 2007 and is currently working on his MBA.
Lavern Dowdy
Secretary
LaVern is a new graduate from CSU class 2007, who transferred from University of Phoenix, with an Associate Degree in education from Central Texas College. She is currently employed with the Department of Defense (DoD), as a civilian and is a Physical Science Technician working in a U.S. Army chemical unit, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood Area (EA), MD supporting Homeland Security. Prior to current assignment, LaVern retired from the army, after serving 22 years in the chemical, biological, nuclear field. She served overseas in Germany, Korea, and Kuwait and GA, AL, FL, MD, VA, SC, KS, TX, CA, IL and SD. Striving to eventually work with EPA to impact pollution prevention through source reduction, compliance and training. Environmental management enables her to remain in a constant state of learning while maximizing the use of knowledge she gained from CSU. As Alumni Secretary, goals are to support alumni efforts and sell CSU to the world.
