About California State University, Dominguez Hills

California State University Dominguez Hills [CSUDH] is home to the Los Angeles area’s only authorized OSHA Training Institute Education Center [OTIEC].  The 18 Federal OSHA training courses available at the CSUDH OTIEC are joined by a portfolio of classes offered as part of two CSUDH Cal/OSHA based Certificates in environmental, occupational, health & safety [www.csudh.edu/safetysaves ].  CSUDH and Columbia Southern University [CSU] are proud to have teamed up together so that students may earn up to 40 credit hours of the 120 hour CSU Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health by participating in the Federal OSHA and Cal/OSHA courses and Certificates offered at CSUDH.

The Partnership

Through the Academic Partnership, employees and/or members (along with their spouses and dependents) are eligible for a free application and 10% tuition discount. To take advantage of these savings, please use the links on this page to apply for admission and complete your enrollment form. Be sure to select the appropriate partnership on your application.

CSU allows maximum transfer credit. Up to 75% of undergraduate courses and 50% of the courses that comprise the graduate programs can be transferred into your degree program at CSU - saving you time and money.

After we receive your application, CSU will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your prior academic credit, training experiences, relevant professional licenses and certifications.  Following receipt of your application, we will prepare a detailed Evaluation report within 7 to 10 working days.  This report will outline those courses we have determined you should take and those courses for which we have accepted transfer credit.  A complete Enrollment Packet will be included with your Evaluation Report to give you all the information you need to enroll. 

While there is no obligation to enroll, you will experience first hand CSU's quality service.

Getting Started

  1. Application
    Click here to complete the Application for Admissions. You may fax corresponding documentation to (251) 224-0540. You should include transcripts of prior academic credit earned (copies will suffice for evaluative purposes). nclude military transcripts, if applicable (AARTS for Army, SMARTS for Navy/Marines, CCAF for Air Force, CGI for Coast Guard). If you do not have student copies of your transcripts, request them from the appropriate university or college and have them sent directly to CSU. If you will not be submitting transcripts from a University or College, you must include proof of a high school diploma or GED. In addition, please include copies of your professional licenses as well as copies of professional certificates that list CEU's awarded or classroom hours attended.
    • Incoming Transcript Request Form This form is used to request transcripts from other Universities or Colleges to be sent to Columbia Southern University on your behalf for evaluation.
    • Please indicate on your application if you are eligible for tuition assistance through either DANTES or VA. Doing so will ensure that we forward you appropriate forms to complete.
    • Note: Documents submitted for evaluation after the original evaluation and prior to enrolling will be subject to an additional Evaluation Fee of $25.00
  2. Enrollment
    • Per Course Enrollment
      With the Per Course Enrollment option, enrollment and registration is a one step process. Students begin the course(s) they list on the Per Course Agreement. Students may enroll in one or two courses at a time. If two courses are listed, this indicates both courses will be started and completed simultaneously within a ten-week period. Students utilizing the Per Course Enrollment system qualify for the CSU Book Grant. Through this grant, textbooks are provided at no additional charge as long as the course is completed with a passing grade. A maximum of 10 weeks is allowed for each course.
    • Term Course Enrollment (Students using VA benefits only)
      Though open to all students, CSU's Term Enrollment was developed for VA Students. To receive maximum VA Benefits courses completed by veterans must have an established start and end date. Students may enroll in one or multiple courses in each eight-week term. Textbooks are provided at no charge through the CSU Book Grant. For more information, view the Term Academic Calendar.
