James Ready, D.B.A.
Interim Academic Program Director of Professional Business
Beginning in April 2016, Dr. James Ready transitioned from part-time faculty member status to begin serving as the Interim Academic Program Director over Professional Business Programs for Columbia Southern University. In that role, Dr. Ready oversees the BS and MS in Organizational Leadership programs, and the recently restarted Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Program. Prior to joining CSU on a full-time basis, he formerly worked in the graduate business school of a large competency-based, online university.
Before joining academia, Dr. Ready was a self-employed consultant, providing advice and counsel to C-level executives of privately held, publically held, not-for-profit, and Federal government organizations. Prior to starting his firm in 1997, Jim honed his skills by working with consulting and CPA firms located in the Midwest. Dr. Ready is also a veteran of the U.S. Army Finance Corps.
Dr. Ready earned a BS in Accounting from Ball State University, an MBA with distinction from the Keller Graduate School of Management with concentrations in Information Systems Management and Marketing, and a DBA from Walden University with a concentration in Marketing. Jim is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society for Business.
