John Hope, Ph.D.
Assistant Provost for Curriculum Planning and Assessment
John Hope serves as the Assistant Provost for Curriculum. He comes to CSU with more than 15 years of experience in leadership, training delivery, quality assurance, classroom instruction, performance evaluations, curriculum development and process improvements in Alabama public education. Most recently, Hope initiated and designed a nationally recognized Science Technology Engineering Math program at Bay Minette (Ala.) Middle School. Hope has been developing and implementing online instruction since 2004 for organizations such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Baldwin County Board of Education (Ala). He holds a doctoral degree in instructional design and development and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership from the University of South Alabama, a master’s degree in education from the University of Montevallo, and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Alabama. Hope is an active member of the American Educational Research Association, the International Society for Technology in Education, the Alabama Council for Technology in Education, the Society for Instructional Technology and Teacher Evaluation, and the Consortium for Research on Educational Accountability and Teacher Evaluation.
