After being laid off from a job he held for more than 12 years, Marc Greenfield applied for numerous jobs in occupational safety and health. He was turned down many times and was told by employers that they felt more confident hiring a person with the degree, even if Greenfield had more experience than that candidate.
The former risk management worker decided to make a crucial career decision: He would get an occupational safety and health degree. After researching schools online, Greenfield chose CSU.
Greenfield said he was attracted to the online university’s self-paced, flexible class schedules and competitive tuition rates. He was further pleased with the 10 percent tuition discount he received via the CSU Learning Partnership Program and the textbooks at no cost grant. “No other school offered that,” he added.
Shortly before Greenfield graduated from CSU, he was hired by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. “I believe the fact that I was going to graduate soon with a degree in OSH helped me get hired."
And now he is very happy with job and the benefits of attending CSU. “The most important thing that I am most thankful to CSU for is that it helped me to get hired into the best and most satisfying job I have had in my adult life,” Greenfield said.
