Columbia Southern University Donates Funding for Music Commissioning Project

Columbia Southern University is launching its first Back-to-School Drive to help area children in need of school supplies. The Orange Beach, Ala., university is asking all who would like to donate school supplies to come by the office between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at 21982 University Lane (off Foley Beach Expressway).

With Independence Day weekend approaching, the American Red Cross (ARC) is preparing for the most critical blood shortage month of the year – July. Columbia Southern University (CSU) will be joining forces with the ARC on July 1 to host their second annual Red, White and Give Blood Drive.

After nearly a year of diligent efforts by the Waldorf College and Columbia Southern University (CSU) faculty and staff to secure the future of Waldorf, the sale of Waldorf College was finalized late Friday, Jan. 8. Mayes Education, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CSU, is now the owner of Waldorf College.

More than 1,200 graduates and guests from around the globe traveled to Pensacola, Florida today to attend the annual CSU graduation ceremony. Alumni met their classmates for the first time as they celebrated this special milestone. The event began at 10:30 a.m. at the National Naval Aviation Museum, the world’s second largest air and space museum.

National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) members Henry Reyes and Jennifer Byrd have been selected as the recipients for two scholarships donated by Columbia Southern University (CSU). An NSA partner since 2007, it is the second consecutive year CSU has awarded scholarships to members of this organization. The university also provides NSA members with tuition discounts, application fee waivers, and other special benefits.

CSU will be sponsoring the third annual "KIDS" Night Out on August 4 at the Orange Beach Waterfront Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Orange Beach Police Department is hosting the event and many local businesses will be sponsoring.
